I have always wondered why someone ends up so bad. It took me long time to figure this out. Though it was late before I could fix it or do anything about it and yes it came at a huge expense, but I am glad that i could at least figure it out correctly. The point is making right choices at the right time. If you make one wrong choice your future is doomed. The funniest part is you know that you have a wrong choice but you can’t help it out. However, nothing much can be done once the trigger is pressed. Whatever you want to do, you might do or you would like to do have to be done before the trigger is pressed.
With lots of hope, ambitions, aspirations many students spend a lot of their family income on MBA education only to figure out, it’s all going to be futile regardless of whatever approach they make. I am going to talk about one such B school- NIILM CMS, where i come from. I took admission last year and right now 2011-13 Batch. When i was in the process of deciding the B School where I would spend my two precious year, i opted for NIILM CMS among the other choices i had. The funniest part is that i came across very negative comments and feedback about the college and its administration on the Google. If you search on Google you will find a blog named NIILM CMS REALITY. It lists down all the stuff that you should know about this college. Anyone in his right sense of mind would not take admission into such a B school after knowing all the real stuff. I say it real because being in the college now i have come to know much real picture of this college. The one that was painted in reality blog was just a piece of it.
If you came to know about this college as one that ranks among the IIM’S and in some cases above them then you should thank the person who coined advertising, because no way on this earth this college would come to be known through its real merit. Why? Reason is Simple, it does not have one. The college spends a huge amount on the advertising. They make several promises and give you nothing.
Location
The college says it is in Delhi. My dear friend it’s not in Delhi its greater Noida. oh, i’m sorry its in one of the worst and remotest villages of greater noida to be precise. The situation here is so pathetic and upto the entire 10-15 km radius of this college you would not find a single public transport. If you get stucked here somewhere, you are stucked for ever!!! Believe it or not and start praying to god that at least you don’t get screwed up by local gujjars. The college says that there would be developments in the area in the coming future. Well i don’t see any future coming in the next 10-15 years. Moreover why should someone pay 10 lakhs for something which is going to happen 15- 20 years down the line.
Admission procedure
Even the admission procedure is flawed. This i came to know from some of my seniors and super seniors that it’s only papers that this college maintains a so called admission procedure. This college only believes in “money as a true talent”. If you have it you stand higher than those who score 90 percentile or more in CAT. Real thing it does not matter even if have not appeared for any competitive exams like CAT, MAT, SNAP etc you can easily get admission into this college provided you pay 2-3 lakhs over and above what usual candidates are supposed to pay. Don’t get settled down with that. It also came to news that most of the admissions last year and the year before were made by dropping the fees by 2-3 lakhs on a personal basis. This was done as most of the students being apprehensive about the college were not willing to take admission into the college. This goes on every year to and fro like a pendulum swinging in vaccum destined to stop never.
Infrastructure
Let’s talk about the infrastructure. Anyone and everyone from outside taking a look at the college would definitely say that it’s something under construction but not an MBA college. Funniest thing being it’s difficult to figure out for a common man the route to this so called prestigious b school. The guests who occasionally come to this college have lost their way and went their way back after going through the mess.
Library and reading materials
Though the library seems to be decent enough, but there are limited no of copies of text’s in demand. The text books and other reading stuff being provided by the college for which you seemingly pay around 30,000 per year is mess. They provide you with the Xerox copies of the reading text materials (obviously because that works as a subsidy for them) that too in very tiny format very difficult to read or interpret from it. I suggest they also need to provide microscope from the next fall as well. “Anyways you don’t read, this way you’ll end up wasting less”. These are the words of professors of this institute verbatim. The computer lab is equipped with dell desktops but the worst part is that network connection in and around the campus area is pathetic. It takes 10-15 minutes to open a simple webpage and sometime even longer.
You also got to pay premium price for everything right from a plain A4 sheet to getting a Xerox everything is hiked by 50%-100% compared to the rates in the city.
Cafeteria
Cafeteria seems like a Dhaba been run by some localities’ and yes this is a premium, though not in the terms of service you get but yes you guessed it right it’s in terms of price you pay. You will end up paying 20-30% higher than something which you can get in the city.
And since this place seems like a part of 10th century you won’t find any place nearby the institution even to get fresh water. So the only choice left out to you is this b school’s dhaba. Oh I’m sorry cafeteria. The administration knows that that’s why they play with it and seemingly end up making some extra money for themselves.
Bus service
I know you might have been told to you that the bus service is free of charge. Well of course it was until last year. The college has got the bus facility for which the college charges a monthly fees of Rs 400/-. The college program office head personnel (Sweet poison) say the “college didn’t get enough admissions this year so we hope we might recover by doing this”. These are her words verbatim. I got to learn this from my seniors. That’s a cool logic I guess and possibly the best practical teaching imparted ever.
Hostel & mess
Hostels facilities are pathetic. Food here sucks and requires immediate attention of the moderators. I know this as I am staying in the hostel itself. In the beginning 2-3 days it seemed like acceptable but as the time passed we got to see and feel the real taste and color. We have reported this to both the warden and college administration but nothing seems to work. we have even looked for an option of moving out of this place and stay of our own but both the college and hostel administration says they can’t return our payments for hostel and we are left with only choice of moving next year. See it’s all about the money. These people are crazy. We are forced to eat this food. The food to which Some adapt, some fall sick and keep recovering and some die.
Faculties and administration
A great place is difficult to exist without great people. The same is true with this b school. The NIILM-CMS boast itself of having a good quality faculties and placement officers. Let’s see how far is this true.
Actions speak louder than the words. This is something that most of the faculty of this institution has to understand. They say they come from brains like IIM’S, FMS, XLRI, IIT’S and the list goes on and on. If this were to be true then why do they keep struggling with some simple concepts in the classrooms? Why do they skip most of the classes and leave the students of their own. I don’t see that in their behaviour. Rather faculties here could be find smoking inside the campus. Would you like to hear from the person not to smoke when he himself smokes a lot? Well I won’t if i smoked.
dude why are you so scared of taking their names out loud. we pay for a service and we don't get it. that's very true here in NIILM
ReplyDeletei agree that this place is not that great too. even in my batch 2008-2010 most of the students were left unplaced and those who were placed was like for a temporary basis.
ReplyDeletemost of them either got fired by the company or shifted the company due to the worst culture being prevalent over there.
ma'am, do you know pallavi gupta of 2009 batch !!?? :(
Deletethank you sir you have saved my precious years from getting wasted. i'm going to look for the other option i have with me. what would you say about IILM and JIMS rohini???
ReplyDeletewell this is so sad to hear. iam feeling a bit dejected and demoralised after taking the admission here. is there any way out i can take my admission back and get refunded. actually is there any process that i can excercise? please let me know.
ReplyDeletedude i completely agree with you faculties here are enjoying by doing nothing. moreover they use all sorts of derogatory comments not only on the students but even for their parents. best example is rajesh sharma. i mean he is not even ashamed of himseld that he gets to eat out of the pockets of these students and he is not cared about delivering what he is supposed to deliver.
ReplyDeletei was there in the class when this pictures were taken by one of our classmate. his attitude is really pathetic. for all the 3 semesters he did not added any value to our student life. moreover he kept brainwashing just to escape his classes and lectures.
dude i know you are pissed off so are we. atleast don't bring out such matter in fron of the public. it spoils the image of the college. there are good things and bad things. why not talk about some good things and be happy.
ReplyDeletei had a word with senior batches and even happened to meet a few in the campus all that say is not worth 7.6 lakhs of investment and ending up with a package of 2 lakhs.
ReplyDeleteDear Blogger,
ReplyDeleteI must say you’ve done your homework......pretty well.....but seriously, i don’t know what you are trying to achieve.
First of all, let me introduce myself. My name is Aakash Kamra and I was a student of the PGDM 2010-12 batch. I’ve spent two years in this institute and I vehemently disagree with most of your claims.
First of all let’s talk about location. For your information, majority of B-Schools are located on the outskirts of the respective cities. ITM Navi Mumbai, Balaji Group of institutes, even IIM Ahmedabad, Lucknow, Indore etc. All of them. I think you are upset because you haven’t got into the college where you thought that you would bunk classes and spend your lousy time with your mates in a nearby mall, multiplex etc. I personally have shuttled to and from Delhi every goddamn day. It’s no big deal dude.
About the infrastructure, let me tell you that in 2012 the institute was newly built. Therefore there were some issues at that time I agree. But today the scenario is totally different. We had played cricket, volleyball etc. within the campus. You must also have noticed that since that time, even when power cables weren’t installed from the noida authority, the institute had 24/7 power back up. Classes are air conditioned and we never faced any issue like power outage. The library (like you said) is very well equipped with books and journals from across the world. And there are sufficient numbers of copies available. I am wondering how you managed to pay your fess if you have problems in paying Rs 2 for a photocopy. Strange, isn’t it? And let me also ask you, how many hours have you spent in the library, honestly tell us.
Talking about Bus service, go out and see the reality. It will cost atleast Rs. 300 for one to reach the institute from Kalindi Kunj one side by an auto rickshaw. If the college asks for 400 Rs. a month for bus service, you find it too much?? That’s amazing dude.
As far as canteen is concerned, all the faculties and administrators also eat the same food which is served to students at a very very nominal charge of just Rs.30 per plate. But if you expect stuff like Penne Pasta, Butter Chicken or ‘Machli Fry’ then dude, grow up. The food served here might not be the best in the country but it’s pretty much eatable with reference to daily routine. And every other stuff like snack, chips, soft drinks etc is served at a very nominal price.
I agree that there are some faculties here who behave like Adolf Hitler, Pol Pot and Cenghiz Khan but you will find people like them almost in every institute. Even I personally don’t like two of them. But the remaining faculty is brilliant. Moreover I found some of them really very supportive and helpful. On occasions they went an extra step ahead to help the students. You’ve talked about Professor Chakravarti and his soft corners towards Bangalis. Well, I am not a Bangali but I have very friendly and cordial relations with him. And he never favoured me or anybody else for that matter. As far is examinations are concerned, if you don’t study, if you don’t even APPEAR for exams, then how would you expect to pass the exams. And then you blame the examination cell. You had also questioned a faculty upon his smoking in public. Well what if in the future your boss smokes in front of you? Will you report it to the grievance cell or will you write another blog about the organization. Dude, this is pretty common in corporate culture. He is not asking you to have a puff. That’s his personal matter, what you have to do with it.
Akash Kamra got jobs as he had developed fine rapport with Rohit Sehgal the placement head of NIILM-CMS. Both of them used to wine & dine, moreover Rohit wanted to take help from Akash KAmra father who was Solicitor at MP state Governemnt.
DeleteAkash KAmra was the student who has failed miserably and had many backlogs, but since he used to flatter all - President S. NEeelamegham, Dean Sarika Tomar, and N.Meenakshi he was given special privileges.
Now let’s come to the most important subject, the placements. Well if you really are the student of NIILM-CMS then I am sure that you know me very well. But for the readers, let me also claim that I was the head of Student’s Placement Committee for the 2010-12 Batch. I had worked with the administration, the placement cell and with the placement officers personally. Do you have any real idea about the placement statistics. I will throw some light. As much as 16 students secured their lives by obtaining a PSU Bank job at a very decent package above 5 Lacs from the institute viz. UCO Bank and IDBI bank. And we made it happen through just one day of campus visit by the companies. 5 Students were recruited by a world class ‘Big Four’ consulting firm called Deloitte (including me).
ReplyDeleteThe highest package offered to a student was 7.5 Lacs per annum by Kotak Mahindra Bank. As far as marketing jobs are concerned, if you opt for marketing, you must be ready for sales ,its quite obvious. Companies like ITC, Berger Paints, Havells, Hindware etc have visited the campus and selected students.
I agree that we had issues with Ms.Verma since she was not bringing companies and there was no transparency in her notifications. I myself along with other members of students placement committee had complained to the president and he acted accordingly. Finally she was asked to hand in her papers and walk out.
I had personally worked with Mr. Sehgal very closely in these past 2 years and I can strongly claim that the companies brought by him were 100 % genuine and there was absolute transparency in his work. Infact, more than 110 students out of 154 were placed solely by him. All the allegations made by you are totally false and baseless. I know that we had to bring people like you to make you appear for the interviews, beg you to get your database to forward to companies etc. solely because of irresponsible attitude of students like you.
Finally, I would like to tell you that dude, if you have some problem then grow up a pair of b**ls and be a man. Address your issues to the concerned authorities and not hide behind anonymity in such acts of cowardice. Shame on you. God Bless You....!!
its all fake. most of the students are out of the job even in 15 days of joining. though rohit sehgal met his target. students lost their life.
Deletewell aakash you don't have to say that. we all know how you are near and dear to the college and rohit sehgal. just for your sake rohit sehgal got the entire group of students to reappear for the placement exam. only because u failed in the first attempt. everyone knows what happened when u had only 5 marks in internals and by any means under any logical sequence you could not have cracked the subject of financial management for more than two semesters util the entire students were asked to rewrite the internals. all for your sake. how did you forget that CRM where u never attended any classes nor wrote any exams but you still managed to get an ace over there. iam not sure who the blogger is but he has rightly portrayed the picture of this so called fake institute NIILM CMS.
Deleteplacement at the kotak mahindra was fake. it was not a 7.5 lacs of package. it was only 3.5 lacs and the job profile was also deceiving. i was asked to stand beside an ATM and pitch customers using the ATM to buy credit cards. crap college. don't waste your time here.
Deleteif you want to see how faculties take classes in NIILM CMS please vistit the link below.
http://niilmcms.wordpress.com/2012/04/26/niilm-cms-reality/
first of all let me tell you that iam not the blogger. iam one who is pissed up by this entire organisation and its activities.
DeletePeople like aakash kamra are good debaters i appreciate that. probably anyone who is in close toufh with MR. kamra would have known where he comes from. this chap comes from the money. a rich lad of a great dad. he was hardly seen in the campus and college classes and mostly visible enjoying his life out in his nice luxurious 4 wheeler with friends and ofcourse the girls as well. again i don't want to spoil the names here.
Now the reason why he joined placement cell was very clear. he had a benefit in doing so. without even getting a good CGPA his name was shortlisted for all the top finance companies. even the rules were twisted in his favour. to tell among one of such incidents was this.-------- NIILM CMS in its history has not considered or conducted the re examination of internal examination no matter what the situation was. but just because aakash kamra failed in finance where he secured only 05 marks out of 50 in the internal evaluations. everyone knew that neither he nor his well wishers could have got him through. the college was happy to conduct the re examination of internal examination for a few selected students in its history since after the birth. and mind it it was only once that time and never again.
let me also tell you that other students still failed in the subject but kamra cleared it. awesome isn't it.
Deletenext in line lies the bias nature of Mr.Rohit Sehgal, the placement head got the deloitte interview redone for all the students the second time just because in the first attempt kamra was screwed in the written examination. it was officially not allowed but sehgal got his contacts worked for kamra.
this is all the heck that keep happening here. Mr. Kamra you might be having the resources to have fun in this place. not a big deal for you. 10 lakhs is like only ten bucks for you. but there are many who have some expectations and ambitions which this institution has no right to kill.
you talk about the placements--- that's great being in the placement cell atleast i am happy that something came from you. well back to the topic, the highest placement 7.5 lakhs that the individual received was Mr. Victor Bhattacharya. ask anyone he is out of the the company and guess what in less than a months time.
everyone knew it was fake and rohit sehgal had his mutual benefit with the company officials to meet his TARGET.
Aakash why don't you tell the world that all the 12 individuals who joined ICICI left the organization within a month. is this something you call a decent placement. no wonder this is what the scene of the placement would be if you happen to be the co-ordinator.
Out of the 154 who have were told to be placed 104 are out of job, this happened within a month or two. 20 have not got their joining letter and dates and the rest are doing it for the fact that they are left with no choice. the profile offered to them does not require them to be an MBA and spent 10 lakhs for such a college.
There was no transparency in the sehgal's business. he followed a simple principle of give and take. everyone knows this. it hardly requires any kind of discussion.
the issue with meetu verma, was very clear. where few people acted and complained to the president under the able leadership of Mr. kamra it was left unnoticed. no action whatsoever of its own kind was ever taken. believe me. and even in the future no action would be taken. only because its much kind of a personal relationship. the balance seems to be heavier on the personal ends contrary to the fact that it is held by an official entity.
now let me tell you why Mr. kamra was interested in complaining against meetu verma. this was all being planned and executed by rohit sehgal. there was jealousy among the placement officers and in an attempt to bring down the image of meetu which apparently was already down even before he acted upon his plans and put it to work he forced his placement co ordinators to do all sorts of things.
one was forcing bhushan (everyone knows who he is)to write mails to every damn person in the college through college mail system
alleging her insufficiency in dealing with the responsibilities of the position she was hired for.
by the way your level of patriotism is great and graduation goggles seem to work great for you, but why are you not working. what happened to your job at deloitte??????
first of all let me tell you that iam not the blogger. iam one who is pissed up by this entire organisation and its activities.

yeah ofcourse why don't aakash kamra tell people that after doing finance he and rest of the guys are selling cards on streets. i guess the information has to be conveyed properly.
DeleteThere are few qualities required to be succesful in any facet of life- determination, hard work & sincerity- the qualities Mr Sharma espouse & you quiver away from; what I am seeing here is a bunch of guys who have waltzed through life and are now faced with an uphill task of responding to the challenge posed by a hard taskmaster & what do you do? start whinging on the internet and call him names, what a bunch of losers. We also thought he was a martinet but we devoted ourselves to his method of teaching and what results!!! he is a goldmine, learn as much as you can from him for most likely you will never meet anyone else from whom you can learn so much & not only about corporate world but life in general, If the picture he is showing in the mirror is unpleasant it is not his fault, raise your standards-shape up or ship out, the way you are cribbing you are gonna pee in your pants when your bosses' are gonna get tough with you. What an atmosphere we had in class when he taught us, what in-depth discussions, clearly you guys are a lackdaiscal bunch who are unwilling to learn the hard ways of the corporate world- I have not met any of you but if this is your attitude I can safely say you can give up any hope of good placement, even if you get placed you are not gonna last long with this is attitude.
ReplyDeletesome yokel above mentioned that Mr Sharma is indebted to students because they have paid fees, why should he be under obligation if your standards are abysmally low, corporate world requires top notch English(one of the few requirements), I bet your levels are below par, so stop spouting this poppycock & work on yourself for better results.
Mr Sharma's proud ex-student
this is all bullshit. even iam a student of NIILM CMS and i know rajesh sharma very well. he is an as***ole. he is getting paid to do nothing. i remember each of his lectures very clear where he worked as a translation machine. he translated sentences from english to hindi and called himself a great professor. bullshit. ask shruti jain, even she said in the class that he gets his research work done by students. making them search for paid articles and casestudy which is infact is his job. this is complete shame. atleast to me to have such a professor in my life.
Deletei loved research and took his subject in the hope that i get to learn something but all in vain. he never ever took a class seriously. you can ask any one from the batch of 2009-2011,2010-2012, 2011-2013 he has not taught a single chapter in sales and distribution. not even from research. and i guess he still got paid for doing this.
i can never forgive you for spoiling the life of many students out there and never ever you will get the respect of any student.
may you rest and rot in hell Mr. Sharma.
kutta agar khud ko sher samjhne lag jaaye toh woh sher nahin ban jata.
Deletei completely agree with pritika. people like rajesh sharma are fraudsters. they can only brainwash you to rob you offyour money and future making you look like a culprit.
Deleterajesh sharma hardly took any classes and he punished students for missing lectures. crap!!!
if a student has doubt and he goes to his cabin he would drive him away saying that he is busy and people like us are not worth an MBA education.
why the hell are we paying an idiot of this sort.
rest of it is all true, non serious, mediocre faculty- You guys should as director for better faculty to be roped in from IIMs,XLRI,FMS,IIFT etc
ReplyDeleteTHNXX dost..seriously yaar...after looking to all these u have saved money for lots of parents..i m also one of the candidate for this collge but now m not going for this college...someone truly said"if u want to know anything about any college get in touch with its alumni"and u have shown us the real picture of this college...thnx once again my real friend..GOD BLESS U...!!!!!
ReplyDeleteeven i have decided to take my admission back from this college. i had a word with recent batch students and they have recommended to consider other options and if not rather drop the idea of doing an MBA because this institution would not get you what you think and what you have been told by them.
ReplyDeletei was a student of NIILM CMS. i believe whatever has been said here is true to the best of my knowledge. this institution is really waste of time, money, hope and energy. i have to take back my admission and after 1 year once i found what the hell was going on. they even kept my fees and rejected my application for the refund of 2 yr fees. right now iam doing executive MBA in UK. which i think i should have done instead of taking admission to NIILM CMS. You guys don't fall in the trap. you can reach me at +447937460442
ReplyDeletethanks a lot sir, i have decided to take back my admission and move to a different college. you have helped me save my money and future. thanks a lot once again.
Deletei had a word with seniors and super seniors and everyone of them has advised me to take admission somewhere else. i have finally decided to take back my admission from this college. thanx a lot who ever brought this to our knowledge. god bless u!!!
ReplyDeleteplease don't do this to your college. whatever good or bad it is you have spent 2 yrs of your life here. I know the situation at the college is much worse but we don't have to discuss this in public. why are we damaging the brand value of the college?
ReplyDeleteSorry they are not my thoughts. But this place is even worse
Deletei have decided to take my admission back as this college seems to be a waste of time to me. i had met some of the seniors at the college and they have not so positive outlook of the college.
ReplyDeletei got my admission fees back which i paid although after some deduction. but it means worth a lot for me as i am out of this trap.
thanks
even iam taking back my admission. thanks to the person who wrote this blog. it has helped me save my money and future. this college is bogus with false advertisements.
ReplyDeletethey gave me 150000 as scholarship...........what other good colleges should i opt for good placements.............
ReplyDeleteDo anyone knows a girl named as "Pallavi Gupta" of 2009 batch. Please tell me if someone knows here. She was my best friend. Please help me. :(
